Alaska History is aught in two sections:

Alaska Pre-history to Sale covers the period from the migration and settlement of Alaska by peoples from North eastern Asia through the exploration of Alaska by the Russians and other European powers up to the sale of Alaska to the United States.

Alaska History Territorial Issues covers the period from the time of the sale of Alaska to the United Sates, through Statehood, the Alaska Claims Settlement act and to the present.

There are two main texts for the class:

The Native Peoples of Alaska: Traditional Living in a Northern Land

Alaska: Saga of a Bold Land

Students will engage in activities including research of native cultures, readings and participation in cultural activities.

VIDEOS:  I will be adding videos of me reading the assignments so that students who have difficulty with the text can follow along.
